a weekend in pictures

My kid's a sloppy eater

Finally had an occasion to wear my necklace I got for Christmas.
I got several compliments on it that night.
I know, it's stunning. No, I have no idea who made it. All I know
was it bought in some store in New Jersey.
(relax kids - that was supposed to be funny)

somebunny is getting married!!!

This is my "don't take my picture" face.

There will never be enough words to describe how
I feel about this picture. <3

This past weekend was one of the best. I could die happy - yes, that's how much I enjoyed my weekend. I love seeing all my favorite faces in one place. I loved being able to help celebrate my two dear friend's engagement. Especially since they were there to share our biggest day. I think the night kept getting better and better the later it got (it always happens that way). Rolling in around 3am is a little rough when you have an infant. All in all it was a pretty great weekend.

a weekend in pictures

Gangsta - This kid had street cred before he was born.

I'll post more about this later but this is easy (& perfect for a place that is a "inbetween" place)

One of the things I love most about parenthood is watching Charlie interact
with the other parent (in this case his daddy). It's the most beautiful thing to
watch them together. It melts me every single time.

I LOVE watching him sleep especially when he does things like this..
putting his thumbs in his ears and smiling.

a family of feet
(My parents used to take these kinds of photos when I was a baby. They
were always my favorite. Especially since you could see how much my
baby feet were growing. It's also nice to have a "family" style photo.
Especially if you come from a broken home.)

Booya! Yes, i'm a weirdo who took a picture of the TV screen.

We goin' super bowl!!

Currently loving:

(Childish Gambino - Heartbeat)

 - I downloaded this album back when it came out and forgot about it.
I recently rediscovered it and now I can't stop listening to it.

 - Need twine? Check out thetwinery.com. (I feel an impulse purchase coming)

 - Charlie needs one of these wooden home state teether

 - 10 minute solution: yoga on netflix instantly
(Perfect for this mommy whose 2 month old is very demanding of her time)

 - Kinda obsessed with this Marc Jacobs purse

 - If I had $600 to blow, I'd buy this Thakoon Ikat Tank Dress

 - Charlie's had an ear infection & has been stuffy for the past week.
California Baby has a great Cold & Flu aromatherapy bubble bath. It works!

 - H&M has the cutest baby boy clothing. I'm loving this cardigan for Charlie. The best
part about it? It's ONLY $7.95!!

 - I kinda really want this H&M dress. It will look perfect with a cardigan and a cute pair of boots!

a birthday for a daddy

Birthday banner
(printed out letters & pasted onto ribbon)

balloons
(balloons scare the crap out of me (when they pop) so I'm not
sure what came over to me hang them up.
Hint: hang them upside down and you don't need helium)

I had this beautiful vision of what the mini flag banner would've looked like.
He came home earlier than planned so I had no time to fix them :(

Instead of cupcakes or a cake, I opted for his favorite cookie instead

handmade cards from Charlie & I

Charlie patiently waiting for his daddy to come home to celebrate!

Birthdays are a BIG deal in my opinion. It was B's first birthday as a daddy this year and since he's such a great daddy, he deserved a great birthday. I put myself on a strict budget for decorations so that meant getting creative (which of course, was no big deal) and lots of personal touches. I really enjoyed putting all of this together. I'm looking forward to when Charlie gets older so I can show him the ropes and he can put his own little personal touches on things!

a few good finds

(Pinterest)
- Ever since I've found these photos on Pinterest, I've been going back and forth on if I should do something like this to my hair. Since I became pregnant, I've gotten pretty darn boring with my hair. I went through punky phases in high school where I'd streak it or have my ends dipped. That eventually led to drastic emotional cutting and coloring as I got older.  I've been getting hair suggestions from everyone. We shall see what becomes of this...

- I read this interesting article on the top 5 regrets people have when they're dying.

- If you watch the Bachelor, here's a NCAA style bracket for Bachelor Ben

- Need help dressing your big tatas? (I wish I had this problem) Then you're in luck! Over at East Side Bride this week, they're featuring how to dress your breasts!

- If you have young children you should check out Caspar Babypants. It's fun and folky approach to kids music.

- I started the Instagram photo a day project for January (via twitter)

New Years (in pictures)

We rang in the New Year by doing phone checks to see what time it was (no cable in this house) & feeding Charlie.

This little guy woke us up around 6am wanting to party
