Mother's Day

Wow, Mother's Day. Motherhood. I am still in shock that I'm here. That I'm in this role of being a mother. That after the big loss, etc. that I am a mama. There's a part of me that wants to pour my heart out into this entry because I have so much to say but at the same time there's a part of me that doesn't want to say much. I feel if I say too much that it takes away from the beauty of my everyday life and something or someone will try and tarnish it for me.

Some believe that babies pick their parents before they're born. Charlie chose two people he wanted to learn something from and wanted to teach us something. I'm on the fence about this belief but I find it intriguing. It is an honor to be this little man's mother. He brings so much joy to not just my life but everyone around him.

Motherhood has made me a better person. It's filled a void in my life. It's tested my limits on so many levels. This is the first time in my life where I've never been more competitive. I constantly try be better than the day before not only as a mother but as a person. As soon as I think I've gotten a grasp on something, Something else happens. This is the beauty of motherhood. It keeps you on your toes.

My first Mother's Day was perfect. It wasn't about the beautiful and thoughtful gifts or where we ate. It was being where you wanted to be and that was together as a family. Thank you to my little family for making my day so special not just yesterday but every day. You guys have my heart!

I hope all the other Mamas out there had a beautiful day!

Love that about your child picking you! That is an interesting observation! Happy Late Momma's Day!
