a glimpse into our east coast holiday vacation

Big furry brother meets little human brother

Rude Elf Reserve aka best beer ever!

I'm currently writing this post with my left hand while Charlie sleeps on my right. We've been busy visiting friends and family this past week. Poor Charlie is all out of sorts from being shipped back and forth. I was informed today by a doctor that it isn't the best thing to do with babies and little kids - yikes! Back to our trip...

Charlie has met most of his east coast relatives and important people in his daddy and mommy's life. On the 23rd we did a tour of Nazareth & Bethlehem. We met up with a bunch of Charlie's dads friends. I finally got a hot dog from Potts' and I was in hot dog heaven! That night my mom offered to babysit Charlie so I could go out with everyone. Haven't had a night out like that in over a year - it was much needed! Even if it did end on a slight hurtful note. This vacation I spent three nights without Charlie and it was pretty unbearable. He was in good hands with daddy and his family but it still hurt this momma so so much. I'm cool with a few hours away but a night is completely overwhelming at this point. I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown. It's been very emotional the past few weeks. A lot of immature bs has been going on recently. So being around family has been helpful. Safe to say I really wish I could've enjoyed my son's first Christmas a little bit more. This Monday we said goodbye to daddy. I can only imagine how hard this is on him. It's hard for us too. Even though I love having my family around and they're such a HUGE help, I still miss having Charlie's daddy around to share things with. I know Charlie misses him too. Charlie and I will be returning to Jersey tomorrow to spend some more time with Tia Leanne, Grandma & Grandpa before we leave. We also have a wedding on Friday to go to. Then we're back in LA on Saturday night. That's if this momma decides to actually get on the plane. It's been heaven having our families around to share and help out with Charlie.

I hope you all enjoyed your holidays!!

Photos from this past week

Getting ready for my company's Christmas party

All dressed up & ready to go. Still not sure if the red lipstick was the best idea.

Charlie in his snowsuit
(Didn't know it had ears until I pulled the tags off of it - grrr!)

Mama's night out. Whiskey was not a smart choice that night.

The little monkey with his monkey blanket

This photo melts my heart

Charlie's new favorite activity

This is what Christmas looks like at my crib

I had a vision of a beautiful Christmas tree with white lights and perfect decorations.
I later caved & agreed that Christmas trees should be tacky and the large lights are a must.
Next year, Charlie will have a real tree.

I thought the vertical blinds needed some Christmas spirit

I wanted to make a wreath out of grapevines and berries but I opted on sprucing
this little swag that I bought at Michaels.

Brown paper + sewing + printing out different floral patterns = a lame art project that I started to
keep me sane.

A stocking for Charlie's dad, mom and of course himself.

Cinnamon smelling pine cones + old mason jar = the perfect inexpensive centerpiece for your table

Christmas balls + vase = The perfect inexpensive Christmas decoration
(It only cost me $2.50 for the balls and I was able to use the rest of them on the tree)

I'm a sucker for penguins (& squirrels, owls, alligators, etc.)  so I wound up having to get this little guy. He was inexpensive AND he isn't breakable. Perfect for when Charlie starts getting into everything next year.

Sometimes I need to be reminded to do something...

dining room table

and in the fridge. It's pretty sad that I didn't find this one until 3:45.
(Yes, my fridge is only filled with beer, wine, cheese, eggs, coffee and breast milk.

and sometimes Brian thinks I need 3 placed in my most frequented spots.

tis the season

This year the holidays bring a different kind of joy into my life. I'm so excited to decorate and I even decided to buy a tree. I always travel back east for Christmas so I never found the point in having a tree (except for the tree in the box that my mom bought me one year). Above are images that I'm drawing inspiration from for the holidays. Once again, thank you Pinterest

Charlie & I pay my work a visit

Charlie's first Downtown LA visit

Saturday = my first night out sans baby.
(I obviously haven't been out in awhile because I was over dressed for my friend's release party)

I apologize on my lack of updates/posts. There aren't enough hours in the day and this 3-4 hours of sleep a night is catching up with me. If I'm not an emotional hot mess or a raging biotch, I'm carrying around my one month old that refuses to be put down when he's awake.  The ones around me the most deserve a medal - Love you guys... so so so much! I've been told to put a hold on my "activities" aka me time to get more sleep (uhhh not going to happen). I'm enjoying a glass of wine tonight. So far it's taken me 3 hours to kill half of it and it's not because I'm "enjoying" it - I'm that f'in busy with chores, planning, etc. It takes me 8 hours everyday to finish a cup of coffee and at least 4 to finish a glass of wine - what the hell is my life coming to?! On that note - night kids! I promise to update again soon :)

PS: My friends worked really hard on a project called Chatty Vag. Check it out - you won't be disappointed! I almost pee'd my spanx on Saturday from laughing so hard!
