Inspiration: wedding bouquets

kinda digging the all red bouquet

eucalyptus, cotton bolls, ranunculus, hydrangea, anemones, dahlias, and freesia.
This week I went through my "inspiration" folders, clips, etc. that I started for my mom's wedding. I'm not happy with the selection. Her wedding may be a bit away but I'm a planner and I like having things organized. Especially since I'm expecting a kid and I won't be able to focus on wedding things for awhile. I went to bed a little too late last night and woke up a little bit too early today browsing the Internet, "pinning" ideas and jotting down ideas. I noticed most wedding bouquets, ideas, etc. look the same. I thought I'd share some of my favorite semi-different bouquet ideas I came across.

anemones

pretty wildflowers

peonies
Kinda has a rustic touch to it

a work in progress: apartment take 2

My lawn ornament squirrel & an old gift basket that now houses junk food chips. Both items live on top of the fridge.

When I got the idea for this blog project, I was a little nervous. Who knows how long it will take me to get my little place together, will anyone find this interesting, should I just show the finished projects, etc. Then I realized that it's the perfect project to see how my little place evolves.

The last time I did this kind of post. The couch was still in bits and pieces and so was the dining room. A lot is still in a bit of disarray (embarrassing). I'm very picky about the furniture I want in my apartment so this leaves me finding "creative" ways to display/house my belongings. I'm also running out of storage space.. dun dun dun! Below is some of the progress that has been made.

The couch is put together - yay! Btw - those pillows came with the couch and you couldn't pick out different ones. Those will eventually be changed. My two green crates are housing my collection of DVDs at the moment and a few cardboard boxes are acting as a bookshelf until I find the perfect one.

My art supplies are still scattered through the dining room. I've been working on several projects and it's easier for my lazy pregnant self to just keep them out instead of bending over constantly to get something out. One dining room chair (not pictured) is put together (thank god!) but there are three that still need to be put together. I have part of a chair that I need to return to a friend because I no longer have room for it.

The little kitchen. There's still some work that needs to be done on it. I have some artwork that needs to be hung but overall this room & the bathroom are the closest rooms to being "done". I say this now and in a few weeks I'll want to redo the whole thing.
34 weeks bedroom mirror shot (I hate this mirror). That bag in the right corner is slowly filling up with items that
I will need to bring to the hospital.
Note to self: Put camera back in hospital bag.

Gimme Gimme: blankets, boots, bags, etc.

Missoni for Target - Medallion Crib Quilt
Missoni for Target - Medallion Bumper

Missoni for Target - Throw Colore

By now I'm sure you all have heard about the madness that ensued at Target yesterday. I heard the Missoni Target madness described as "black friday on crack". The only thing that I kinda liked was the Missoni for Target throw (pictured above) and if I'm still able to find it, I might get it. I wasn't in some mad rush for it. I may understand the Missoni madness now that I've seen the bumper pads and the baby quilt. I'm now in the "I have to own these items" mode. Yes, the bumper pads and quilt are kinda ugly and not very "baby" but that's why I like it. So if anybody comes across these items, please hit me up. You'd make this expectant momma very happy. Want to know what else I'm drooling over? Look below...

H&M boots - Won't break the bank and you can pair them up with almost any outfit.

Frye 'Shirley' Over The Knee Boot - A bit on the pricey side (at least for me) but I can't stop drooling over them.

H&M Baby Boy plaid shirt - Layer a onesie underneath or a cute t-shirt w/a pair of jeans.

H&M Baby socks - I just think these are adorable.

H&M Baby Boy Cardigan - This just needs a cute pair of khakis and a baby flat cap.
H&M maternity denim shirt - Figures I'd find this when I'm almost done with my pregnancy... grr!

Forever 21 Hunter Jacket - I'd layer a grey hoodie underneath this jacket.

Forever 21 Elbow Patch Cardigan - A) it's the mustard color that I love B) you can pair this with so much

'Metallic Military General' Crossbody Bag - It's a Marc by Marc Jacobs ... 'nuff said!

a weekend in pictures

The little dude "enjoying" his first Giants game. Not having a TV doesn't stop us from watching our Giants!

Last minute pizza dinner
Santa Monica at dusk

 - I bought colorful mixing bowls for cupcakes and whoopie pies that were never made because I let exhaustion set in.
 - I bought a squirrel and after staring at it for two hours I realized it was a lawn ornament (pictures to come)
 - I have more boxes that are occupying the living room and more things that need homes - ugh!
(I was a bad photographer this past weekend)

Inspiration: Fall

Inspiring outfit for when the crisp & cool weather sets in.

This reminds me of how beautiful the east coast looks like when the leaves begin to change colors.

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. The air becomes crisp and cool, the trees turn into beautiful shades of yellow and orange and you trade summer dresses for boots. These images are a little reminder that Fall is right around the corner and Los Angeles won't stay in the 80s forever. Happy Friday!

Perfect for rainy days

Apple cider tastes the best after spending a day picking pumpkins and going on hayrides on a crisp fall day.

So far I haven't found a single pumpkin patch out west that can compare to the ones back east.

Gimme Gimme: i'll take these, please

Woven Skirt w/braided belt
(Oh, the outfits I could create with this skirt)
BDG Buckle Tote
Around this time of year, I always want to do "back to school" shopping. It's one of the things I miss from being younger. I miss being able to update my wardrobe with fall pieces. I want to retire the sundresses and start bringing out the yummy warm socks and my knee high boots. This year is a bit more frustrating. My "bump" seems to be growing at a rapid pace that half of my maternity wardrobe no longer fits like it used to. For someone who enjoys fashion - this is very frustrating. What's a girl to do?
A. Get creative (in the words of Tim Gunn "make it work") w/what fits
B. Start daydreaming about the fall pieces you'd love to add your wardrobe.

Here are just a few pieces that I saw recently and really liked. Enjoy!

Sparkle & Fade Shirtdress
(just add leggings or skinny jeans and the right accessories)
Lolling Blazer
marc by marc jacobs
over-the-knee ribbed 1937 socks
