a weekend in pictures

does this bathroom make me look pink?

I've always wanted a Peter Pan hat and I finally got one - even if it's just a tinfoil version :)

If you spend too much time shopping for home furnishings, I will entertain myself by doing this

18 months

When you turn 18 months, I will buy you a cupcake and throw you a mini party.

My little love is 18 months today. Time has a funny way of just flying by. My little man impresses me every single day. Like today when he decided to start showing off how he can walk backwards. He is very intelligent, inquisitive, and ultra compassionate. I love how he points to almost everything and wants to know what they are. I love watching the world through his beautiful big blue eyes. I love when he stops what he's doing to come over and kiss me and returns to what he's doing. I love the interactions between him and Penelope and how much they love one another. Most of all I love how happy he is even on his "off" days which are far and few between (fingers crossed since we're approaching the terrible 2s). Charlie is a very special child. The amount of love he shows to everyone around him and the amount of the love this kid gets on a daily basis is pretty amazing. I hope as he gets older he's able to stay this well adjusted, this happy and knows how loved he is.

Charlie Graham,

I've said it before and I'll say it again. You complete me. You make my world go round. You make me a better person. You are hands down the most amazing person in my life and I'm so thankful for every waking moment we get together. No matter what, I'll always love you more than you will ever know.

xoxo,
Mama

ps: I did cry as I wrote this post (typical)

happy pinning

I'm a very visual person. Nothing makes me happier than finding pretty images. Before the days of pinterest my old toshiba was filled with random file folders filled with beautiful photos and word documents filled with quotes. Here are some recent finds that I had to share. Hope you all are enjoying your Thursday. It's almost the weekend! xoxo

expanding our family

We've added a puppy to the family!! Meet Penelope Pearl or sometimes known as Penelope Pickle. She was running around scared in the parking lot of a semi local drug store. Concerned that she would be hit, a friend and I decided to try to wrangle her up and find her owner. I wound up being able to "woo" her over and she was such a lover and the rest is history.

Charlie and I love our newest family member and she loves us (especially Charlie - win!). Caring for a puppy is similar to caring for my toddler son. They both beg to go outside (sometimes together at the same time), want to eat constantly, leave messes wherever they go and i'm constantly chasing them out of something. I'm already that caring weirdo mom who is such a stickler about Charlie's diet there should be no surprise that I'd feel the same way about Penelope's. It's important to me to not only provide Penelope with a loving and happy home but to provide her with a healthy diet. I was given the "okay" to give her certain healthy human foods along with her new fancy wet and dry food (she loves her new meals). I also researched the heck out of the healthiest treats and toys for her to play with. I'm fully aware with how crazy I may sound but I've been in the habit of doing the same thing for my child. Do you really think I could turn off my maternal instinct when it came to our new puppy? :) xo

life lately in pictures

How is it Wednesday already?!?! I've been meaning to share so many photos and I haven't gotten around to it. Anyone else starting to wish there were more hours in the day? It's difficult to accomplish the littlest tasks these days. Why? My *almost* 18 month old is constantly attached to me. I can't even go to the bathroom by myself and if I do he's freaking out. So most days you can find him attached to my leg, in my arms, on my back, sleeping on me, or crying at my feet to pick him up. They're only this young once so I've learned to let the little things go (save the laundry and cleaning for naps or when he's with his papa) and just savor all these little moments with him. Here are some of the photos I've been meaning to share. I have a lot of little projects, trips, recipes, etc. that I've done over the past few weeks so hopefully I can share them here soon. I also have a few ideas for some new content that I can hopefully get to. We've tried to keep busy these past few weeks with outdoor activities and spending time with our favorite people who have become more like family the past few months. We wouldn't have it any other way :)

lately

I've been a very bad blogger lately. Last week it was a scary stint in the hospital (he's fine - it was just a scare) and this week it's a double ear infection, congestion and fevers. Having a sick babe is no fun especially when they're unable to communicate. I wish I could just fix him and make him feel better. He's not 100% better but we're getting there. Yes, I say we because in the midst of all of this he decided to share his cold with everyone he could (caring is sharing). It's okay. It's another excuse to cuddle all day while reading books, listen to new music (introduced him to Sinatra) and Mama even got to catch up on Mad Men. I'll be able to post a bit more regularly next week. Hope you all have been well!! xoxo
