she's crafty: getting "eggy" with it

This past weekend I hosted my annual egg decorating party. When you're the hostess it's kinda hard to get your craft/art on because you're so busy making sure everyone else has everything they need. Here are some snap shots from the night. I was able to get my egg decorating on earlier this week with one of my friends who was unable to make it. I love seeing what ideas my friends come up with. Everyone's is so creative and unique!

I don't like cadbury eggs but I made sure to have some on hand for everyone else.

She's Crafty: Naturally Dyeing Eggs

Natural Egg Dye Ingredients: Coffee, Red Wine, Radishes & Turmeric

1st cup: Red Wine & Radishes
2nd Cup: Turmeric
3rd Cup: Coffee

Eggs just after their overnight "egg bath"

Voila! Naturally colored eggs!

I'm a bit late with these Easter crafty posts but I've been busy. So please forgive me! I've been dying (haha get it?!) to try naturally dyeing eggs since I read this post. I thoroughly enjoyed boiling the water and measuring all the ingredients out (guess that's why I also enjoy baking so much). I loved the how eggs were colored in beautiful muted shades. Looking forward to coming up with some new "natural egg dye" ideas for next year!

She's Crafty: Cheddar Bunny Carrots

Materials Needed: Cheddar Bunnies, some sort of plastic bag, green ribbon and scissors.

Step one: If using a zip-lock bag or sandwich bag cut off the top. Fill
bunnies on one of the corners.

Step two: Twist bag until it is (sort of) in the shape of a carrot

Step three: Tie green ribbon on the top.

here comes peter cotton tail...

I wanted to do something Easter-ish for my co-workers but didn't want to spend a lot of money. Instead of buying a basket I decided to use an old gift bag. I just cut the top of it off. I'm not a fan of the yucky plastic Easter grass so for the past few years I use old shredded paper. I also like to reuse the plastic eggs. I filled the "basket" with pretzels, jelly beans and Hershey kisses. To make the bag look more festive I created a bunny behind with white and orange paper and on the other side made a little sign. BAM! There's the perfect inexpensive Easter basket! I spent maybe 4 bucks on the entire project.
